Great pics! Hey, how would you rate the difficulty of the CMM? I’ve been trying to motivate a friend of mine to train for a marathon (she’s in a bad place in life and I think marathon training could help pull her out) She is a country music fanatic and I thought this event would be great. good for a 1st marathon? Too difficult a course? what do you think?
I would not recommend it for a beginner. It is hilly, and the temperatures can be as high as the mid-80's, as it was this year. The bands on every mile are a definite plus for a country music fan, but it doesn't override the difficulty. I would recommend it after she's tried her hand at a few. The St. Jude Classic in Memphis, TN is much flatter, runs the first week in December, and also has pretty cool music, including some country (along with blues and rock and even some folk). It benefits the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital there. Several of us make that trip every year. The Barbeque is incredible…Prayers and blessings for your friend as she laces up…it is great therapy…
